Coastal Credit Union is different from a bank because it is not-for-profit and directed by professionals who give their time for free.
Supported and governed by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Association of British Credit Unions (Abcul), Coastal is as safe as any larger bank or building society.
Because it is run by and for local people, with profit returned to the members, the organisation can respond quickly to the financial environment and the changing needs of its members.
